A weighted grade calculator combines parts of a course that count differently toward the final result. If tests are 40% of the class and homework is 15%, a 90 in tests should affect the course grade more than a 90 in homework. Enter each current category average and its syllabus weight above; the calculator multiplies every grade by its weight, adds those contributions, and divides by the total weight entered.
For each row, multiply the grade by its weight. Add those products, then divide by the sum of all weights: weighted grade = Σ(grade × weight) ÷ Σ(weight). For grades of 92, 84, and 95 with weights of 25%, 30%, and 45%, the calculation is (92×25 + 84×30 + 95×45) ÷ 100. The calculator keeps full precision and displays the result to two decimals.
A syllabus normally lists categories that total 100%. If you only enter the categories graded so far, this calculator normalizes by the entered weight so you can see your current average across that subset. The weight indicator stays visible because a 90 based on 60% of the course is not the same as a locked final grade. Add remaining categories with projected scores to model the full course.
Use category averages when your LMS already combines homework, tests, labs, and projects. Use individual assignments only when each assignment has its own percentage weight. Do not enter both a category average and the assignments inside that category, or those grades will be counted twice.
This tool handles course math after work has been scored. GradeWithAI handles the scoring step: it reads handwritten or digital submissions, applies your rubric, drafts per-criterion feedback, and lets you review every result before returning grades to students.

Multiply each grade by its percentage weight, add the products, and divide by the total weight entered. For a complete course whose weights total 100%, the result is the weighted course grade.
Use the calculator that matches the gradebook question: weighted categories, a required final-exam score, or a semester average.
Once the math is settled, GradeWithAI scores the actual assignments against your rubric.
GradeWithAI scores handwritten and digital work against your rubric, then lets you review every result.
