Constraints that actually work
Separation: paste groups of students who shouldn't sit near each other (behavior conflicts, testing integrity, IEP accommodations). Keep-together: paste pairs or clusters who should be adjacent (peer tutoring, ELL pairings, social-emotional support). The randomizer tries 50 shuffles to satisfy both sets of constraints — if they conflict, the tool flags it and falls back to best-effort placement.
Stateless by design

That's intentional — student names are PII, and a seating chart tool shouldn't require a data-privacy review.
