The small details that make a spelling-worksheet tool faster than typing 15 words into a Word doc.
About this tool
A spelling test sheet is the blank, numbered response page students write on during the Friday quiz - no word list, no sentence prompts, just crisp numbered lines and a header. Simple, but the details matter: if lines are too narrow, a first grader can't fit 'because'; if the number column creeps into the writing lane, students overwrite their own response. This printable spelling test sheet is laid out for young writers, with generous lines, a clean name/date/score header, and numbered rows that match the count you choose. Teachers keep a stack of these at the front of the room for pop quizzes, make-ups, and substitute lessons. Generate and print in about a minute from the tool above.
Primary students need about 3/8 inch between baseline and top line, with a dotted midline for the short letters. Our sheet renders in two layouts: primary (baseline + midline + top line, suitable for K-2) and standard (single ruled line, 3rd grade and up). Numbers live in a 0.4-inch left column so writing doesn't collide with '1.' and '2.'

The sheet is deliberately blank - you read the words aloud, students write them down. Use it with a grade-leveled list, a Dolch or Fry set, or the custom words you drop into the spelling worksheet generator above. Many teachers print 30 sheets at a time and reuse across the month.
A substitute teacher doesn't need a trained spelling-instruction background to run a test with this sheet - just the word list and the read-aloud order. It's also the go-to for make-up tests: a student absent Friday can take it Monday on the same sheet, no reformatting.

“For Chadwick users, GradeWithAI has improved feedback efficiency and effectiveness, as it is grounded in existing platforms and is highly adaptable.”

“More impressive though is that it corrects student answers not simply using a pre-written answer, but by following the thought process they've pursued.”

“I've really enjoyed using the GradeWithAI program. It saves me a ton of time, especially when I have class sizes of 35 or 36 students times five.”

“GradeWithAI doesn't just grade. It gives the student reasoning as to why every point is awarded or not awarded. That is a very valuable thing for the students.”

“GradeWithAI [provides] students with timely individualized feedback on their homework assignments and formative assessments. This is a job that is virtually impossible for a teacher to do on a regular basis.”

“Students have also appreciated the consistency and immediacy of the feedback I can provide through GradeWithAI. This has enabled them to make necessary corrections and achieve their desired scores on any assignment.”
