About this tool
Sometimes you just need math problems — any math problems — calibrated to a grade, no particular topic in mind. This random math problem generator pulls from every operation, every topic, every grade level K–12 and gives you a mixed-bag worksheet in seconds. You specify the grade; it randomizes the topic mix, the operation spread, and the problem format. Perfect for substitute-teacher folders, end-of-year review, and "I just need something for bell ringers" moments. Every click is fresh. Try the generator above with "random math problems, 4th grade, 20 questions" and print a worksheet in under a minute.
Random here is grade-bounded randomness. A 4th-grade random worksheet won't include logarithms, and a 1st-grade worksheet won't include long division. Within grade, the generator pulls from the Operations and Algebraic Thinking, Number and Operations, Measurement and Data, and Geometry strands in proportions that roughly match state-test weighting. You get a representative mix, not chaos.
Specify grade (required), problem count (10, 15, 20, 30), and optionally a slant ("heavier on computation," "heavier on word problems"). You can request "mixed operations" for K–5 or "mixed strands" for 6–8. The answer key handles whatever comes out, no matter how varied the page ends up.
Grade-appropriate content only
Balanced operation and topic mix by default
Optional slant toward computation or application
Works across K–12 with the same interface
The sub-folder worksheet, the emergency bell-ringer, the end-of-year review page, the parent-asks-for-summer-practice page. Also surprisingly useful as a diagnostic — a random mixed-topic page shows you quickly where a student's gaps are. Pair with the math fact generator for fact fluency practice below the surface.
How it works
Operation(s), grade level, format (drill or word problems), and item count.
Lock a context (sports, animals, food). Set difficulty (easy, medium, hard).
Copy the text or print directly. Toggle the answer key for teacher vs. student version.

“For Chadwick users, GradeWithAI has improved feedback efficiency and effectiveness, as it is grounded in existing platforms and is highly adaptable.”

“More impressive though is that it corrects student answers not simply using a pre-written answer, but by following the thought process they've pursued.”

“I've really enjoyed using the GradeWithAI program. It saves me a ton of time, especially when I have class sizes of 35 or 36 students times five.”

“GradeWithAI doesn't just grade. It gives the student reasoning as to why every point is awarded or not awarded. That is a very valuable thing for the students.”

“GradeWithAI [provides] students with timely individualized feedback on their homework assignments and formative assessments. This is a job that is virtually impossible for a teacher to do on a regular basis.”

“Students have also appreciated the consistency and immediacy of the feedback I can provide through GradeWithAI. This has enabled them to make necessary corrections and achieve their desired scores on any assignment.”
