Word problems that don't repeat
The word-problem generator varies the scenario — sports, animals, food, measurement, time — across every item so students aren't pattern-matching. Specify a context (sports, ancient Egypt, zoo) or let the generator vary.

Maya planted 8 rows of sunflowers. Each row has 12 plants. How many sunflowers did she plant?
At the zoo, 3 pandas eat 4 kg of bamboo each per day. How much bamboo do they eat in a week?
A soccer team scored 36 goals over 6 games. What was their average per game?

The small details that make a math-problem tool faster than hand-writing 20 equations on a template.
About this tool
Setting up the equation is the hard part of any algebra word problem. "Two consecutive integers sum to 45 — find them" becomes x + (x+1) = 45. "A boat travels 30 miles downstream in the same time it travels 18 miles upstream; find the current speed." — that requires a table, two equations, and a shared-time constraint. This algebra word problems generator writes those scenarios across the standard categories: number problems, age problems, consecutive integers, distance/rate/time, mixture, work, and money. Every worksheet is new and shipped with the answer key. Hit the generator above, request "algebra word problems, mixed categories, 12 questions," and a ready-to-print worksheet shows up.
Algebra word problems divide into a handful of families with characteristic structures. Age problems (Sarah is 3 times as old as her brother; in 5 years she'll be twice as old). Distance/rate/time (two trains, two different speeds). Mixture (x gallons of 20% solution plus y gallons of 50% solution). Work (two painters together vs. separately). Each family has a setup template — students who recognize the family know how to build the equation.
Ask for one family or a mix. For an introductory class, stick to consecutive-integer and age problems. For mid-year Algebra 1, introduce distance/rate/time. For end-of-year review, mix all families so students have to recognize structure. Each problem comes with an answer key showing the equation setup and the solution, so you can model reasoning, not just answers.
Consecutive integer problems
Age problems (current, past, future relationships)
Distance/rate/time (upstream/downstream, opposite directions)
Mixture and work problems
Word problems are where algebra either clicks or doesn't. Use these after a procedural unit (solving equations, systems) so students have the tools to handle the setup. Pair with the algebra problems generator for procedural drilling beneath the application work.
How it works
Operation(s), grade level, format (drill or word problems), and item count.
Lock a context (sports, animals, food). Set difficulty (easy, medium, hard).
Copy the text or print directly. Toggle the answer key for teacher vs. student version.

“For Chadwick users, GradeWithAI has improved feedback efficiency and effectiveness, as it is grounded in existing platforms and is highly adaptable.”

“More impressive though is that it corrects student answers not simply using a pre-written answer, but by following the thought process they've pursued.”

“I've really enjoyed using the GradeWithAI program. It saves me a ton of time, especially when I have class sizes of 35 or 36 students times five.”

“GradeWithAI doesn't just grade. It gives the student reasoning as to why every point is awarded or not awarded. That is a very valuable thing for the students.”

“GradeWithAI [provides] students with timely individualized feedback on their homework assignments and formative assessments. This is a job that is virtually impossible for a teacher to do on a regular basis.”

“Students have also appreciated the consistency and immediacy of the feedback I can provide through GradeWithAI. This has enabled them to make necessary corrections and achieve their desired scores on any assignment.”
